I never asked to be normal

All those superheroes who have greatness thrust upon them? And feel half-uncomfortable-half-this-is-so-cool at the first moment, and the later-with-great-power-comes-great-responsibility shitheadedness that happens with them? They never asked to be who they became.

“Be not afraid of greatness; some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.”

– William Shakespeare

I asked to be great. I regularly doid. Is that why I haven’t got it yet? Perhaps. Greatness isn’t achieved when you ask for it. It is, a symbol of what you deserve. Of the work you have done. It is not in your hands. It is in the eyes of the others. And that is what makes it so futile. I do not want greatness any more. I want to will do work. The best I can.
